Save the Gator Queen

  • Bugs, Bombs, and Concrete Taco
Bugs… Benjamin Patterson the III is not your average teenager. He would rather spend his time with bugs, than classmates.

Bombs… the Navy missed its target at the Pinecastle Bombing Range in the Ocala National Forest, and some of the students at Lakewood High want to go looking for it.

Concrete Taco…. is the name of the coolest boy in school’s rock band, and they just landed a gig to play at the homecoming dance.

Is the dance Ben and Mallory’s chance to be accepted in to the cool club, or will they still be the biggest geeks in school? Then again, who decides what’s cool and what isn’t. It should be a big night for them, if the bugs or bombs don’t get them first.

The Old Livingston House

Cory and Summer had just met near the Ocala National Forest when they stumbled across what appears to be a treasure map.  They soon find out the leader of a local biker gang believes it belongs to him and is determined to take it from them.  When an Ocala lawyer who is addicted to a computer game shows up in the area, it’s hard to know who is chasing who.  The clues don’t seem to make a lot of sense but everything comes together inside the creepy old Livingston house.

A Word From Our Teachers

This is a wonderful story about friendship and fitting in when you are different. Once I started reading this book I didn’t want to stop because I wanted to know what was going to happen next. Students reading this book will enjoy it because they can relate to it.

It was fast-paced and the characters were fun and believable. I loved the relationship between Ben and his mom. It has a good lesson about being popular. It didn’t matter to Ben what others thought of him and that’s refreshing. That will be good for kids to read.
